From terrifying haunted houses to free neighborhood displays, here are some spooky attractions across Nassau and Suffolk for Halloween.

Long Islanders seeking the high-intensity thrill of haunted houses and other terrifying Halloween displays don’t have to look too far.

An ever-expanding directory of haunted houses, spook-filled corn mazes, and terror-inducing Halloween displays is available through FrightMaps.

The free app maps local attractions across various cities and states while allowing users to submit their own locations. The company also has published “Fright Guides” for states and metro areas.

Nassau

Bayville Scream Park, Bayville: This Nassau County Halloween park features five haunted houses along with a haunted trail, themed restaurants and hidden bars. The 2026 season runs Sept. 18 through Nov. 7 at 8 Bayville Ave. Hours and prices vary by date and time, with the official calendar listing some value-night tickets beginning at $39.90. The nighttime attractions are not recommended for children 12 and younger.

Nightmare in Nassau, Hicksville: Nightmare in Nassau has returned to Broadway Commons at 358 Broadway Mall for the 2026 season. The indoor haunted-house experience operates select nights through Nov. 1, with Friday and Sunday hours from 6-9:30 p.m. and Saturday hours from 5-9:30 p.m. Current event listings put general admission at $35, while the attraction also offers Fast Pass and VIP options.

Darkness Rising, Westbury: Darkness Rising is back for 2026 at a new home on the second floor of Samanea New York Mall, 1500 Old Country Road. The haunt opens Oct. 23 and runs seven nights through Nov. 1. General admission is $32, Flexible Entry is $37 and Fast Pass is $42. This year's storyline sends visitors through a Mars research facility where an experiment has gone catastrophically wrong.

Fly Creek Manor Haunted House, Bethpage: This free home haunt features animatronics, live actors and themed displays, including a graveyard, haunted farm and carnival-inspired scares. The 2026 season runs on select nights from Oct. 1-31. Listed hours are 7-9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 7-10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free.

Suffolk

Restless Souls Haunted House Complex, Huntington Station: Restless Souls offers four attractions at 301 West Hills Road, with admission ranging from $12 for one attraction to $37 for all four. Its 2026 opening has been postponed to Oct. 9 because of storm damage, so visitors should check the updated calendar before going. Proceeds benefit West Hills United Methodist Church.

Haunt On 3rd, East Northport: This free, walk-through Halloween display features an assortment of spooky props, with new additions each year. The 2026 display runs Oct. 10-31. Hours are noon-10 p.m. Sundays, 4-10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 4-11 p.m. Fridays and noon-11 p.m. Saturdays. Visitors are asked to respect neighboring properties and avoid touching the decorations.

The Peppermint Chop Shop, Commack: This free residential haunted house features live actors, a DJ, photo opportunities, giveaways and other entertainment. The attraction is scheduled for Oct. 24 and 31, from 6:30-11 p.m. Admission is free.

Schmitts Farm Haunt, Melville: Schmitts Farm Haunt at 26 Pinelawn Road combines its indoor Haunt with a Haunted Corn Trail. General admission is $47.11 and includes both attractions, with free parking. The haunt opens at 7 p.m. on operating nights, while closing times vary according to the date.

Gateway's Haunted Playhouse, Bellport: The Gateway turns theatrical design, professional performers and special effects toward horror each fall at 215 South Country Road. The 2026 haunt runs through Nov. 1, with general admission costing $44 online or $54 at the door. Hours vary by night, generally beginning at 7 p.m. The nighttime experience is recommended for ages 13 and older.

Darkside Haunted House, Wading River: Darkside Haunted House at 5184 NY-25A features more than 20,000 square feet of scares divided between The Village and The House, plus a Monster Midway. General admission costs $40 online or $50 at the site. The 2026 season runs through Nov. 1, with timed ticketing and a virtual queue.

Deepwells Haunted Mansion, St. James: Deepwells' 2026 production, “The Last Masquerade of 1913 — The Ball That Never Ended,” takes over the mansion and surrounding grounds at 2 Taylor Lane. Admission is $30 in advance or $40 at the door, with the haunt open from 7-10 p.m. on select October nights.

Yaphank Trail of Terror, Yaphank: The outdoor Trail of Terror returns to 65 Main St. on Oct. 9-10, 16-17, 23-24 and 30-31. Hours are 7-11 p.m. and admission is $15. Because the attraction is outdoors and can close because of rain, tickets are sold at the booth instead of in advance

Haunted Hollow, Calverton: Baiting Hollow Scout Camp's Haunted Hollow combines a haunted trail and haunted house at 1774 Sound Ave. The attraction runs Oct. 16-17, 23-24 and 30-31 from 7-11 p.m., rain or shine, with admission priced at $15 per person.

Spooky Walk at Camp Paquatuck, Center Moriches: The 38th annual Spooky Walk returns to Camp Paquatuck, 2 Chet Swezey Road, on Oct. 16-17 and 23-24 from 7-9 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for the approximately 45-minute haunted walk, with proceeds benefiting Camp Paquatuck.
