Crash Causes Car to Topple Off Lift in Melville Gas Station
A worker suffered facial injuries from broken glass Thursday, fire officials said.
A worker suffered facial injuries after a Ford sedan toppled off a overhead lift and crushed the car below it inside a Melville gas station on Thursday at 11:10 a.m., officials said.
According to fire officials, the sedan was knocked off the lift when a Nissan parked outside the garage lunged forward after a worker closed the car’s windows as it started to rain at the Gulf gas station on Walt Whitman Road.
The Nissan was partially crushed by the sedan’s fall.

A worker suffered facial injuries from broken glass and was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Melville Rescue Squad.
About 20 firefighters from the Melville Fire Department and rescue personnel were on the scene with three trucks, an ambulance, paramedic responder and fire police, under the direction of Second Assistant Chief Paul Mahler.
