Concert to Honor LI Breast Cancer Victims
"Ribbons of Hope" benefit at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center will raise money for Monter Cancer Center and 1 in 9's Hewlett House.

The Dix Hills Performing Arts Center will honor woman who have battled breast cancer during a special one-night event entitled, "Ribbons of Hope" on Saturday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Long Island musician/songwriter Carine Ulano Firestone will perform alongside Dr. G's All Star Veteran Band for a night of rock 'n' roll and recognition of woman who have both lost and defeated their diagnosis.
Firestone wrote the song "Ribbons of Hope," for Sandi Mazer Garfinkel, a friend and breast cancer survivor. Faced with baldness, Garfinkel struggled to find a comfortable head covering that she could wear every day. After her recovery, she was inspired to create a wig line for women who can’t afford a comfortable head covering so that they have dignity and confidence during their treatment. From there, "Always Hair 4 You," was created.
