Driver Hurt After Car Overturns on Northern State Parkway

The crash occurred Saturday morning, fire officials say.

A driver was hospitalized after their vehicle overturned on the Northern State Parkway on Saturday morning.

According to fire officials, the car skidded into the center median of the eastbound lanes of the parkway and flipped over near Round Swamp Road and Route 110 in Melville at 5:50 a.m.

The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital by Melville Rescue Squad to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Melville Fire Department responded to the scene with two ambulances, an engine, heavy rescue truck, first responder and paramedic units. All units were under the direction of Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
