Multimedia Presentation on Leonard Bernstein

This multimedia presentation, presented by Hofstra Professor James Kolb, will examine the life of Leonard Bernstein.

Bernstein was the "wunderkind" of the concert stage, the ballet and musical theater. Later he became a master of the opera, educational television, the conductor's podium and the lecture hall.

In a little over a year in the 1940's, he made his debut as conductor of the New York Philharmonic, conducted the premiere of his first symphony and his first ballet score for Fancy Free, and ended with the Broadway opening of the musical comedy, On The Town.
