As part of the two hour workshops of the Composer's Landscape series, Steinway artist Carol Montparker will present "Schumann: Interpretation and Performance" and perform the Kreisleriana, opus 16. The performance will be followed by coaching sessions and discussion about the elements of performing his piano works. First come, first seated.
Because of the overwhelming enthusiasm and interest expressed by the piano-community, Carol Montparker is going to continue The Composer's Landscape series at the Steinway Used Piano Gallery in Melville this coming season.
The format will stay the same. Each two-hour session will begin with a performance of a major work by the composer, a lecture-discussion of the essential elements of performing his works on the piano, and then a coaching session of works-in-progress. Students , teachers, and pianists of all ages are eligible and welcome to apply. The auditor's fee is $10.

Please note!--This season we will listen to prospective students and pianists (except those at the Artist-level), ahead of time, at the convenience of each applicant, so may we encourage colleagues and friends to start thinking about their students and pianist-friends to urge them to participate in the coaching segment of these workshops? (Without exception, last season's participants, as well as many of their teachers, expressed the fact that their participation was of real value and pleasure to them.)
Carol Montparker's phone number is 631-427-7556, and the Gallery's number is 631-424-0525, for further information. Please feel free to call or email at any time.
