The Half Hollow Hills PTA Council invites parents, teachers and community members to a special presentation...RAISING HAPPINESS: A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH FOR HELPING YOUTH THRIVE presented by Dr. Jeffrey Froh in the Candlewood Middle School Auditorium.
When asked what they want for their kids, people will likely say "happiness." But being happy is tough work. In this program participants will learn about different kinds of happiness, obstacles to becoming sustainably happier, and scientifically supported interventions for increasing a young person's happiness. In addition, time will be spent discussing the consequences of a materialistic values orientation.
Dr. Jeffrey Froh is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hofstra University. He is a NYS licensed, certified school psychologist. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Positive Psychology. He has presented programs nationally and has been published in Newsweek, Newsday and other media outlets.
