The Greenlawn Fire Department's Fireman's Fair

New York State's longest running Fireman's Fair. The fair's reputation is upheld year after year by the superior selection of goods and prizes to be won in a multitude of games of chance as well as its hometown family atmosphere.

Each year, the fair is kicked off by the Fireman's Parade Night on the Thursday before Labor Day when firefighters and ambulance personnel from surrounding departments, including Dix Hills, Northport and Huntington, make their way down Broadway to congregate on the fairgrounds behind GFD headquarters.

The grand prize, a brand new automobile, is raffled off on the last night of the fair, on Labor Day. This years grand prize is a 2010 Jeep Liberty (The winner is responsible for all applicable taxes and must be 18 or older to win).

Summer culinary favorites are always a hit...spicy fresh hot dogs, buttery corn on the cob, fresh cut potato fries, snow cones, cotton candy, ice cream and more... While the children are getting sticky from the cotton candy, trying one of many skill games, or riding down the giant slide, parents can hit it big at the Big Six or Nevada booth. There's always plenty of family fun every year at this fair.
