Forest Park Students Win Town Poetry Contest

Forest Park Elementary School has two winners in the Huntington Youth Writes Competition.

Many local students submit a creative entry to the annual Huntington Youth Writes Poetry Contest. proudly announces two winners, both in fifth grade, Sophia Russo and Hannah Ritter.

Sophia won second place for her poem entitled Gone Forever. The closing line,
“You’re in my heart and always will be.”

Hannah placed third. Her poem was called The Hard But Short Life of a Bug. The opening, “I walked along the damp soil. Desperately searching for a companion.”
