5 HHH Teachers Receive National Board Certification
The district now has a total of 13 National Board Certified Teachers.

Superintendent of Schools Kelly Fallon proudly announced that five teachers have been recognized as National Board Certified Teachers in the Class of 2012, at a board of education meeting Dec. 10.
Those teachers include:
Candlewood Middle School Teacher Namrata Dixit,High School East Teacher Jessica Nolan,High School East Teacher James Nolan, Candlewood/West Hollow Middle Schools Teacher Elissa Reichstein, High School East Teacher Patrick Rendon.

The district now has a total of 13 National Board Certified Teachers, Fallon said.
National Board Certification is an advanced teaching designation. It complements New York State's teacher license credentials, and is highly revered as “the gold standard” in teaching excellence.

Superintendent Fallon explained the assessment process is vigorous, and recognized Director of Social Studies Lorraine Lupinskie (also a NBCT) and Staff Development Coordinator Silvia Scognamillo for their support to all of the teachers involved.
According to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, "the mission of NBPTS is to advance student learning and achievement by establishing the definitive standards and systems for certifying accomplished educators, providing programs and advocating policies that support excellence in teaching and leading, and engaging National Board certified teachers and leaders in that process.”
