HHH Middle School Robotics Team Takes First Place
Team wins first place in teamwork at the Long Island Championship.
The HHH Middle School Robotics Team, under the direction of Ms. Caryn Meirs, competed at the Long Island Championship on Sunday at Longwood High School.
There were 100 teams registered across Long Island at the beginning of the season on October 1. Eighty of them competed at the qualifying events held February 2nd and 3rd.
Of those, 41 teams were represented at the championship, where 13 awards were given out.

At the championship, the Half Hollow Hills Middle School Team the “Awesome AHAPers” took first place in teamwork – which showed in their presentation and in the teamwork challenge.
For the entire season they won: first place in teamwork, first place in core values and first place in robot programming.

Michael Lehmann, co-captain, West Hollow, 8th Grade
Lauren Tucker, co-captain, Candlewood, 7th Grade
Ben Goldberg, Corey Jeshiva, Hannah Leibowitz, Megan Lulley, Nolan McDermott, and Michael Sarosy, all West Hollow 7th Graders.
The Half Hollow Hills Middle School Robotics Team is in its second year.
