School Budget Survey Results Set For Release

K-12 Insight survey coordinator will share the survey results 7 p.m. Monday at High School East's auditorium.

Half Hollow Hills residents will get their first glimpse of the 2013-14 Budget Survey results on Monday Night.

A K-12 Insight survey coordinator will present the results of Hills' 2013-14 Budget Survey that asked district parents to give their feedback and different possible school closing and program cut options to close a $6.86 million budget gap left after predetermined expense cuts are made.

The results presentation will not include a Question & Answer period, unlike the previous budget presentation.

Hills school officials gave a Jan. 7 presentation that summarized the various options including closing Chestnut Hill Elementary School, closing Candlewood Middle School, closing High School West or reducing from a 9-period to 8-period day at the middle school level. The slideshow of the presentation is available on Hills' district website.

Parents and district taxpayers were asked to complete an on-line survey with questions and open comment sections by Jan. 18.
