Hills on Stage Presents 'Willy Wonka Junior'

It's Scrumdidilyumptious!

“Hills on Stage” is a district-wide fifth grade musical theatre program sponsored by the Half Hollow Hills School District to support the initiative of creating a ‘close knit’ community, bringing together students from the district’s seven elementary schools. This year’s production marked the celebratory 11th successful year, featuring Willy Wonka Junior.

The Willy Wonka story is based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, renamed Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory when made into its 1971 film adaption. The film starred Gene Wilder, Jack Albertson, Peter Ostrum, and was filmed in Munich. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score, composed by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse.

The plot centers on Charlie Bucket, a young boy from a poor family, and a candy factory owned by Willy Wonka. Wonka let the world know that five golden tickets were hidden in his chocolate candy bars. The winners and chaperones were invited to tour his factory, meeting Oompa Loompas and where the fun and crazy antics take place!
