Hills West Alum Alyssa Bitsimis Earns Award at La Salle

Alyssa Bitsimis, a 2011 High School West alum, has earned the Faculty Athletics Committee Academic Achievement Award from La Salle University. 

Bitsimis, a sophomore at the Philadelphia school, will be honored with other recipients of the award at a men's basketball game at La Salle on Jan. 23. 

Bitsimis, who was a member of the National Honor Society at West, is a pitcher for the La Salle softball team. During her high school career, she was a five year varsity starter on the softball squad and was named all-state and all-Long Island her senior year. She was also the 2011 League IV Player of the Year.
