Suffolk County Teen Robs, Fires Shots at 15-Year-Old Boy in Nassau: Police

The victim had listed his iPhone for sale online. A 14-year-old girl is also charged with robbery following incident Saturday afternoon.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - A Melville teen was arrested for robbing and shooting at a 15-year-old boy in Massapequa on Saturday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.

The 15-year-old, who posted an iPhone for sale on multiple online sites, was contacted by 17-year-old Peter Libardi to meet at Field of Dreams Park on Old Sunrise Highway at about 1:35 p.m., police said.

Libardi examined the phone and had the teen walk with him to get money, police said.

As they walked down a nearby street, Libardi showed the teen a black handgun in his waistband and fled with the iPhone, police said.

While being chased by the teen, Libardi turned and fired multiple shots at the him, police said. The teen was not struck by the gunfire.

Libardi then ran back to Field of Dreams was seen entering a black 2015 Lincoln Navigator that fled eastbound on Old Sunrise Highway, according to police.

Responding officers from the Seventh Precinct found the car and conducted a traffic stop on Broadway in Amityville, police said.

Libardi and a 14-year-old girl connected to the robbery were both placed under arrest without incident, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Libardi and the girl are charged with first degree robbery and second degree robbery, police said.

Libardi is also charged with second degree menacing, first degree criminal use of a firearm, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and first degree reckless endangerment, police said.

Both will be arraigned on Sunday.
