No Incumbents on School Board Election Ballot

Five candidates will vie for three open seats on the board next month.

The Half Hollow Hills Board of Education will have a whole new look come this summer. 

Five candidates filed petitions before Monday's deadline for a place on the ballot. There are three school board seats up for grabs and all three incumbents have chosen to not run for another three-year term.

The candidates are:

  • Current school board president Anne Marie Sorkin, along with trustees Carole Catapano and Jay Marcucci, will not seek re-election.

    A meet the candidates night is slated for May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at High School West.

    The school board election and a vote on a proposed will take place on May 17.
