PHOTOS: 'Oh Thank Heaven' For Free Slurpee Day

Folks cooled off today by celebrating the 84th birthday of 7-Eleven.

The convenience store chain 7-Eleven celebrated its birthday once again this year by giving out free 7.11-oz. cup Slurpees.

The chain has been around for 84 years and started the free Slurpee day craze since 2002.

"7-Eleven Day and giving away free Slurpee beverages is our way of thanking customers for their patronage throughout the year and showing appreciation for their support," Jesus Delgado-Jenkins, senior vice president of merchandising, marketing and logistics, said in a press release.
