District Limiting Public Use of Tracks

Residents will not be able to run at either high school during school hours.

The Half Hollow Hills Board of Education announced during its monthly meeting on Monday that the tracks at both high schools will soon be off limits to the public during school hours.

Vice President James Ptucha said that the district has decided to close the tracks to better protect students.

He said that there were incidents in which some individuals were "improperly interacting with students," which led to the decision to close the tracks during school hours (7:10 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.). He did not elaborate on those instances, but said the decision is based around improving student safety.
