St. Luke Preschool Mommy & Me Program Expanded

Moms and dads welcome in fall classes,

St. Luke Preschool and Early Childhood Center in Dix Hills, is expanding its Mommy & Me program to include classes for fathers and for mothers of infants.

A new “Mothers of Infants” class will be offered this September. Designed for parents with babies from newborn to 12 months of age, this class will be taught by Mrs. Nancy Nelan, RN, Certified Childbirth Educator. Mothers will be offered a warm welcome and a chance to make new friends while learning about becoming a family. Nelan will also teach Mommy and Baby Yoga featuring a light, relaxing stretch for mom while baby has fun, too! Both of these classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and one evening which will be scheduled based on parental availability.

“Basic Training for Dads” is a class for new fathers to connect with each other and with a veteran father to talk about the experience of parenting. The class will be led by Mr. John Bergaglio, who is not only a teacher, but is also the father of three children.

The traditional Mommy & Me classes for children from nine through 20 months old meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings with children of different ages meeting on different days and at different times. These classes are led by Mrs. Charlene Leo, an experienced early childhood professional who has taught at the preschool for more than two decades. Leo creates a safe and nurturing environment where parents or grandparents and children play and explore together while making new friends and learning about child development.

For more information, please call the school at 631-462-5216 to find the schedule of classes for your child’s age group. The preschool serves children from infants through five years old with early childhood programs and half and full-day classes. There are limited openings for September 2012.
