Students Visit Federal Court
Students in law and order class get a firsthand look at the court system in Central Islip.

Fifth grade students in the district's Academically High Aptitude Program (AHAP) recently got the chance to witness the swearing in of 300 people becoming United States citizens at the federal courthouse in Central Islip.
The students, from all seven elementary schools, were the guests of Judge Hall, receiving a tour of the building and viewing a video on the importance of serving on a jury, according to teacher Lucille Kenney.
