Team Hills Honored for Accomplishments at National Lacrosse Competition
HHH BOE trustee Eric Geringswald and his U-15 lacrosse team were undefeated in the national tournament in New Jersey.
Team Hills, a Dix Hills club lacrosse team, returned to Huntington victorious from their Tri-Lax competition in Princeton, N.J. Twelve members of the U-15 team – made up of over 20 eight and ninth graders, according to Coach Eric Geringswald – received a proclamation from the Town of Huntington Town Council.
"It is a national competition with teams from Michigan, Mass., Maryland, N.J., N.Y., and Penn. playing against one another, held in Princeton, N.J.," Geringswald said.
He was assisted by Half Hollow Hills West H.S. Varsity Lacrosse Coach, Nils Haugen, Junior Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Half Hollow Hills East H.S., Brian Harrison, and Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Half Hollow Hills East H.S., Paul Guzzone.
Geringswald said the boys continually improved their skills, team work and individual abilities throughout the tournament in order to allow for the team's win.
