Four Years in the Making, Hills East Soccer in Semifinals
Undefeated Half Hollow Hills High School East boys soccer team will verse West Islip today in the last playoff game before the Suffolk finals.
The Half Hollow Hills High School East boys soccer team made into the playoffs every season for the past four years, but had been knocked out after the first round each time. This year, the Thunderbirds are not only in the semifinals, but they have done it with an undefeated season.
Hills East, 13-0, defeated Smithtown West last Friday with a score of 5-0.
Jake Freeman had two goals and an assist to lead Hills East over Smithtown West in the Class AA quarterfinals. Also scoring for Hills East were Jose Panagos, Robbie Reiser and Tyler Kirschner. Sam Ferber and Sam Wasser east had one assist.

Goalie Jordan Gross had 6 saves, while Smithtown West's Brian Dugan had 7.
The Thunderbirds play at West Islip at 2 p.m. on Monday in the semifinal round.

The Hills West boys soccer team also made it into the quarterfinals, but the the Colts lost to West Islip, 0-1.
