Town of Huntington Summer Senior Advocate Schedule

Find out how seniors can get the help they need.

Senior Advocates will meet at specific locations in Huntington to assist seniors aged 60 and over.

“Nobody should ever have to go without food, medical attention or other necessities, which is why our senior advocates literally bring these vital programs and services directly to our seniors in their own communities,” said Legislator Lou D’Amaro.

This summer, senior advocates will be visiting the following locations in the Town of Huntington:

  • Huntington Library: Mondays, Sept. 21, 10 am – 12 pm
  • Huntington Nutrition Center: Wednesdays, July 29, Aug. 26 & Sept. 30, 8:30 am – 12 pm
  • Paumanack Village I & II (Greenlawn):Tuesdays July 28, Aug. 18 & Sept. 22, 10 am – 1 pm
  • Paumanack Village V & VI (Melville):Tuesdays, July 23 & Sept. 24, 8:30 – 11:30 am
  • South Huntington Library: Thursday, Aug. 27, 10 – 11:30 am

Senior advocates are County representatives who will assist seniors with information gathering, completion of eligibility or recertification applications and referrals to appropriate community agencies.

“I urge every senior resident to take full advantage of this professional community outreach program so that they don’t miss out on the County’s network of services,” D’Amaro said.
