Two Drivers Lead Cops On Early Morning Chase On LIE: Police

BREAKING: No one was hurt, but the chase went on for miles before both drivers were stopped.

Two men from Queens were arrested in Dix Hills on Friday after an early-morning chase on the Long Island Expressway.

According to Suffolk County Police, an officer saw the driver of a 2016 Nissan Sentra driving erratically on the westbound LIE near Exit 62 around 2 a.m. The officer attempted to pull the car over, but police say the driver, Robert Richards, 32, of Springfield Garden, fled. Police say Richards and his friend, Donzel Raywhyte, 28, of Arverne, who was driving nearby in a Chevrolet, began weaving through traffic and refused to stop.

An officer deployed "stop sticks," which stopped the Chevrolet. The Nissan continued driving, police say, and officers eventually managed to bring it to a stop at Exit 52 in Dix Hills.
