Video: Hills East Senior Awarded Arts Scholarship

Julia Lerner talks about being the latest Half Hollow Hills student to win an Otto Kahn Scholarship as past HHH recipients perform.

Half Hollow Hills West High School graduates Jill Schackner (2007) and Athena Margarites (2010) were both past recipients of the Otto Kahn Scholarship awards.

They recently returned to show off their musical talents at the 2011 Friends of Oheka Garden Party at Oheka Castle in Huntington. This year Julia Lerner, of High School East, became the latest Half Hollow Hills resident to win an Otto Kahn Scholarship award.

The $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students planning to enter an arts related career. Lerner has talents in the visual arts and in music as a cello player. She plans to attend Arcadia University in the fall and major in scientific illustration and pre-med.
