West Hollow, Candlewood Schools Among Top 100 Middle Schools in New York

Niche.com has released its 2016 rankings of public middle schools across the country, with 32 Long Island schools making the list of the top 100 in New York.

That's down from 48 Long Island schools that made the list in Niche's 2015 rankings.

West Hollow Middle School and Candlewood Middle School in the Half Hollow Hills Central School District made the list at No. 30 and 37, respectively.

A high ranking, according to Niche, indicates that a school “is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students and faculty, and the students are very happy with their experiences.”

The top nine ranked schools on Long Island are all in Nassau County. The top Suffolk County school on the list is Oldfield Middle School in the Harborfields School District.

• No. 46- Lynbrook South Middle School, Hewlett
