• North Country allocated $3.5M for safer roads (localsyr.com) — Halfmoon is set to share $2.14 million in state roadway safety funding with Wilton, aimed at adding guide rails, better signage, and clearer pavement markings to reduce serious crashes. The money comes from a broader $43.2 million “Safe System” initiative targeting lane-departure accidents statewide. Local drivers should eventually see safer corridors as these projects roll out.
