• First state softball rankings: 18 Section III teams make the cut (syracuse.com) — Hamilton’s softball team has opened 4-0 and debuts at No. 11 in the first statewide Class C rankings, leading a strong local showing in Section III. Eighteen area teams made the New York State Sportswriters Association poll, including McGraw at No. 5 and Sandy Creek and Frankfort-Schuyler also in Class C.
