• Kayaker Rescued After Becoming Stranded In Rough Conditions Near Shinnecock Canal: Police (patch.com) — Emergency crews rescued a kayaker stranded in rough waters near the Shinnecock Canal in Hampton Bays on Sunday afternoon, then treated her for hypothermia at Meschutt Beach County Park. Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps assisted, and a Southampton Town marine patrol officer was also injured during the difficult rescue and taken to a hospital.
