Harlem Fire Leaves One Dead, Another Hurt, Police Say
An 88-year-old woman died after a fire broke out in her apartment.

HARLEM, NY - One person is dead and another was sent to the hospital in critical condition after a fire broke out in a Harlem apartment building Monday night, police told Patch.
Firefighters responded to the blaze in a 15th-floor apartment of 70 La Salle Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
An 88-year-old woman inside the apartment was taken to St. Luke's hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. An 86-year-old man found in the apartment was transported to the hospital in critical condition, police told Patch.

Neither of the victims have been identified, police said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, police told Patch.
