21-Year-Old Shot Dead in Harlem Friday Afternoon: Police

The man was shot in the head on West 141st Street near Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

HARLEM, NY — A 21-year-old was shot and killed Friday afternoon while walking down a Harlem block.

The victim was walking down the 200 block of West 141st Street between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. boulevards when he was shot in the head, police told Patch. The shooting occurred around 1:50 p.m.

“I couldn’t see his face ... he was all blood,” witness Jose Mora told the New York Daily News. “He was lying face up shot in the face. There was a gallon of blood trailing to the corner of the sidewalk.”

The man was transported to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The shooting is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, police told Patch.
