3 People Injured In 2 Harlem Shootings: Police

Police are investigating to determine whether the Tuesday night shootings are related.

HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating two separate Tuesday night shootings that left three people injured, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The shootings occurred shortly after 8 p.m., police said.

The first shooting occurred on the corner of West 124th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. A 27-year-old woman was shot in the back and taken to Harlem Hospital for treatment, police told Patch. During the same shooting a 19-year-old man was shot in the foot, police said. The man was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

Another shooting occurred around the same time on the corner of West 118th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, police told Patch. An unidentified man suffered a gunshot wound to his groin and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The NYPD investigation into both shootings is ongoing, police told Patch. No arrests have been made and police do not know whether the shootings are related, police said.
