70-YO Straphanger Punched By Stranger In Harlem Subway: Cops

HARLEM — A 70-year-old straphanger took a fist to the face in an unprovoked attack in a Harlem Subway station Wednesday evening, police said.

The elderly rider was attacked as he tried to exit a northbound C train at Saint Nicholas Avenue and 145th Street about 7:15 p.m., cops said.

The punch-thrower ran away and medics took the 70-year-old to St. Luke's Hospital where he was treated for a "severe" cut on his lip and face, said police.

The NYPD is now looking for a suspect who stands about 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray Gap hoodie and sweatpants.
