Armed Robberies Hit Chase Banks In Harlem, Upper East Side: NYPD

Armed robberies were reported at two Chase Banks Tuesday: one in East Harlem, and another almost directly south on the Upper East Side.

HARLEM, NY — An armed robber struck at a Chase Bank in Harlem Tuesday afternoon, about an hour before a second robbery was reported at another Chase almost directly south, according to the NYPD.

The first robbery happened around 1 p.m. at the Chase location at 103 East 125th St., on Park Avenue, police said.

Around 2:12 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting an attempted armed robbery at the Chase at 147 East 86th St. on Lexington Avenue, police said.

An adult man was arrested following the second reported robbery and a firearm was recovered, according to police.

An NYPD spokesperson couldn't immediately say whether the man arrested was also suspected of committing the Harlem robbery.
