Experience the “Subway Series”: public solo violin performances by Dr. Edward W. Hardy at Grand Central Terminal, presented as part of the MTA Music program and proudly sponsored by The Sound Kulture Brand and Marco Alexander. Drawing from classical repertoire, jazz, Latin music, rock, and contemporary popular works, Dr. Hardy presents a wide-ranging multi-genre program that reflects the versatility of the modern violin. Each performance is approached with the same level of preparation, professionalism, and presentation as his formal concert engagements, reinforcing his commitment to artistic excellence in both traditional and nontraditional performance spaces. These performances are intended to make high-level live music accessible to a broad public audience, fostering an inclusive environment in which the boundaries between performer and listener are intentionally dissolved.

In partnership with Mayan midwives from Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, and Elemental Guides, we’re opening a 3-part virtual series focused on working with the elements to process emotion, restore balance, and reconnect to the body. We begin with Earth. What to expect: A guided live practice via Zoom Connection to a traditional Mayan ceremony led by midwives on the land Simple, embodied tools for daily life A space to slow down, reflect, and reset This space is open to everyone. Marble Collegiate Church

Joan Lunden, award-winning journalist, bestselling author and longtime host of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” will kick off “Inspired Conversations With…” Marble Collegiate Church’s new series featuring notable thought leaders on Thursday, April 30, 6 p.m. in the historic Sanctuary at 1 W. 29th Street in New York City.
Lunden will share stories from her newest book, Joan: Life Beyond the Script, during a memorable evening to be moderated by Faye Wattleton, longtime Marble member, co-founder of quantum computing company, EeroQ, former president of Planned Parenthood, author, speaker and a leading voice in protecting women’s rights. 
In Lunden’s memoir, she discusses breaking barriers in broadcast journalism, redefining motherhood and courageously sharing her breast cancer journey to advocate for women’s health and caregiving. Her story is one of resilience, reinvention and living boldly at every stage of life. Following this conversation, Lunden will sign her book, which is included in the $25 in-person admission.

Always late, missing her socks, misplacing her schoolbooks, Millie has been dubbed “Messy Millie” by friends and family. Like a tornado, she whirls through life, a cyclone of chaos. But Millie is ready to change. Learning from a more-than-slightly-mixed-up guardian fairy, Millie finds that with a little change and a bit of magic, she can have a wonderful life! This musical is 45 minutes long and best enjoyed by audience members ages 2+.

MADC is elated to be premiering current company artist Ellicia Clayton’s new work, Come Sunday; the reimagining of the deconstructed repertory work, Thoughts; an audience favorite, Sweet Seventies’ Suite; and the premiere of Legacy. Ellicia Clayton’s Come Sunday investigates the following questions in her 5 section work: Have you ever questioned Salvation? Is it ever too late to be saved? Thoughts examines how we see ourselves, what ways that we show up for ourselves, and practices that cultivate self-love. Sweet Seventies' Suite explores grief, loss, and joy towards a loved one who transitioned to the spiritual realm. Legacy is rooted in joy as a form of resistance. It fosters pride and a positive sense of self by highlighting the valuable aspects of Black people from the First Great Migration, the first Harlem Renaissance, and the second Harlem Renaissance.
Please note that Speyer Hall @ University Settlement is ADA accessible with a wheelchair ramp for entry into the building, an elevator, and wheelchair access for seating.
