The NYC DOT Open Streets program transforms local roadways into car-free public spaces, allowing communities to use streets for walking, biking, outdoor dining, and cultural programming.
The Hamilton Heights-West Harlem DOT Open Street on West 142nd Street, between Amsterdam and Hamilton Place is in it's third year of activation and community building. Free family-friendly events, kids street games and chalk art, art making and other workshops rotate through November 1st. We invite everyone to join this community networking event -- meet new neighbors or hang with people you know or are familiar --learn about the Hamilton Heights neighborhood while you relax.
We are open to volunteers and ideas for activation. Please email info@harlemonestop.org with your ideas or support.
