He has been part of the free jazz and avant-garde scene that has always animated New York's creative music underground, appearing on NoBusiness Records — a label devoted to free jazz and improvised music of the highest order — and performing as part of William Parker's Centering Big Band, one of the landmark recording projects in the history of the music. His sound moves with the searching freedom of the avant-garde tradition and the deep blues feeling that has always powered jazz at its most honest. Ricardo Strobert brings his searching alto saxophone and flute to the Harlem Jazz Series on October 23, 2026.
