A composer, guitarist, rapper, and record producer who defies every category jazz has tried to build, Gene Pritsker is one of New York City's most audacious and prolific musical voices. Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1971 and raised in Brooklyn, he trained at the Manhattan School of Music and has spent three decades dismantling the walls between jazz, hip hop, classical chamber music, and rock — one fearless composition at a time. With his ensemble Sound Liberation, he brings that boundary-erasing vision to Welcome to Harlem on November 6, 2026.
Fitzgerald was celebrated for her extraordinary voice, impeccable swing, inventive scat singing, and seemingly effortless ability to transform a song. This concert takes those qualities not as museum pieces, but as creative provocations — jumping-off points for contemporary composers and performers.
