Car In Harlem Hit-And-Run Found, But No Arrest, Police Say

Police located the car involved in a fatal hit-and-run shortly after midnight Sunday.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD has located the car involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a 61-year-old woman dead early Sunday morning, police said.

Mercedes Dearmas was struck and killed by a silver sedan while attempting to cross Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and West 113th Street shortly after midnight Sunday, police said. Dearmas, a Harlem resident, was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where she was declared dead.

The driver fled the scene after striking the 61-year-old woman, police said.

Investigators located the silver sedan Monday within the confines of Harlem, but have not made any arrests, police said.
