Community Juneteenth Celebration!
Juneteenth Block Party this Saturday at 12PM at 114th-115th St. and Saint Nicholas Avenue

This Saturday, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will host a Juneteenth commemoration block party at 114th-115th St. and Saint Nicholas Avenue. The event will begin at 12:00 p.m. (EST) and will be held in collaboration with Rev. Dr. Johnnie M. Green, Jr. and the Mount Neboh Baptist Church of Harlem, New York State Senator Cordell Cleare, and feature keynote remarks from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr.
“We commemorate Emancipation Day as a day of remembrance of the millions of people lost to the tragedy of slavery. Our nation has made significant progress over the last 153 years, and Juneteenth represents how far we have come as a nation. Yet, this day is also a reflection of how much work remains in our fight for absolute equality and the protection of civil rights for all. Constituents, advocates, and leaders across the country are calling for an end to the equitable treatment of minority families. As we commemorate Juneteenth in celebration of the progress that we have made, we recommit to our fight to confront the injustices that remain.”
