Escaped Pit Bull Injures 9-Year-Old Girl in East Harlem
Police officers had to shoot and kill a pit bull that got away from it's owner and attacked a little girl.

HARLEM, NY — Police officers had to shoot and kill an escaped pit bull that attacked a 9-year-old girl and her mother Friday in East Harlem.
The dog got away from its owner at 5:45 p.m. on E. 115 St. and Second Avenue, police told DNAifno. The vicious dog then attack the girl, her mother and another person who tried to intervene, DNAinfo reported. Nearby officers responded to the scene and one killed the pit bull after the dog bit the officer on the arm, police said.
The girl and her mother were hospitalized with major injuries and the police officer was treated for a minor laceration, DNAinfo reported.
