Gunman Arrested For Fatal East Harlem Shooting, Police Say

The man is accused of fatally shooting a 49-year-old inside an East Harlem bodega, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man from the Bronx is facing charges for a fatal shooting that occurred inside an East Harlem bodega, police said.

Anthony Pinkston, 45, was arrested Thursday night and charged with murder, police said. Pinkston is accused of shooting and killing an East Harlem man on the night of Dec. 14, police said.

Mingo Mason, 49, was found inside a bodega on Lexington Avenue between East 115th and 116th streets shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Mason was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Mason was a resident of East 128th street in East Harlem, police said.

The NYPD is did not confirm Pinkston's motive for the murder, police said.
