Harlem Boutique Wine Store To Open Wine Bar: Report
Pompette Wines & Spirits will open a wine bar on the corner of West 131st Street and Lenox Avenue.
HARLEM, NY — A boutique wine store opened by a fourth-generation Harlem native is set to expand its business by opening a wine bar on the corner of West 131st Street and Lenox Avenue, according to a report.
Pompette Wines & Spirits, currently located two doors down from the corner spot, is awaiting permission from the city to begin construction on a site formerly owned by a restaurant named Island Salad, Harlem Bespoke reported.
The wine store expects construction to begin within the "next couple of months" for a fall 2017 opening, according to the report. Pompette opened its doors in 2015, Harlem Bespoke reported at the time, featuring a selection of bottles from small organic vineyards. The business is owned by a fourth-generation Harlemite who wanted to open his own store after working in the wine industry, according to the report.
