Harlem Celebrates National Night Out Against Crime

NYPD community affairs officers will be celebrating with community members Tuesday evening while teaching them best safety practices.

HARLEM, NY — A run in with the cops is usually not a measure of a successful night out. But Tuesday night Harlem residents will be partying with the police during the neighborhoods celebration of National Night Out. During National Night Out, neighborhood residents can meet officers from local precincts to learn best safety practices and enjoy free food and entertainment.

Harlem, being an expansive neighborhood, is covered by several precincts. The 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, 30th and 32nd police precincts all cover a separate par of Harlem. Each precincts will be holding separate National Night Out celebrations.

The 23rd precinct, which covers parts of East Harlem will hold its event on East 106th Street between Lexington and 3rd avenues from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The 25th precinct, which covers the rest of East Harlem will be partying at 119th Street between Lexington and Park avenues from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The 26th precinct, which patrols areas of West Harlem and Morningside Heights will hold their party on Morningside Avenue between West 125th and West 127th streets from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The 28th precinct in central Harlem will hold its event at the Harlem State Office Building at 163 We. 125th St. from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Mayor Bill de Blasio will swing by the event at 6:30 p.m.

The 30th precinct, which covers the the northern tip of Harlem, will be partying on West 137th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive.

Last but not least the 32nd precint, which borders the Harlem river on the north end of the neighborhood, will have its event on West 135th Street between Adam Clayton Powell and Frederick Douglass boulevards from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
