Harlem Fire: Third-Story Blaze Breaks Out On Busy Street

Firefighters battled a blaze Thursday afternoon at a six-story building on St. Nicholas Avenue.

HARLEM, NY — A fire broke out in a six-story building Thursday afternoon on a busy Harlem street, an FDNY spokesman told patch.

The blaze started on the third floor of a six-story building located at 285 St. Nicholas Ave, between West 124th and 125th streets, an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters responded to the scene around 12:12 p.m. and were battling the fire for nearly an hour.

The fire was declared under control shortly after 1 p.m., an FDNY spokesman told Patch.

Nobody was injured during the fire, an FDNY spokesman said.
