Harlem Hit-And-Run Leaves Pedestrian Dead; Suspect At Large: Cops
BREAKING: The crash early Sunday happened at the intersection of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and West 113th Street.

HARLEM, NY — A 61-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in Harlem early Sunday morning, police said, and the driver fled from the scene. It happened just after midnight at the intersection of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and West 113th Street.
Investigators determined that a silver sedan was heading northbound on Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard when it struck the woman, who had been crossing West 113th Street. The vehicle did not stop, police said.
The crash happened just three blocks north of Central Park.

The woman was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where she was declared dead. She was identified as Mercedes Dearmas of Harlem. Dearmas lived six blocks north of the site of the crash.
An investigation remains ongoing. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been publicly identified.
