The woman almost killed her boyfriend after an argument.

HARLEM, NY — A Harlem woman who burned and almost stabbed her boyfriend to death after an argument will face nearly two decades in state prison, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. announced Tuesday.
Myeshia Hawkins-Taylor was sentenced to 16 years in prison Tuesday, a month after pleading guilty to attempted murder charges, according to the DA's office.
On January 30, 2016, Hawkins-Taylor dumped scalding hot cooking oil on her boyfriend's face and body while he was sleeping, prosecutors told Patch. Hawkins-Taylor and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument the day before.

When Hawkins-Taylor's boyfriend tried to escape their Harlem apartment she stabbed him the arm, leg and abdomen and did not call 911 to get him help until 36 hours later, prosecutors told Patch.
"Myeshia Hawkins-Taylor scalded and stabbed her boyfriend, then, for a full day, prevented him from seeking the medical treatment he desperately needed," said District Attorney Vance.
