Harlem's Baylander Boat Bar Reopens For Summer On Hudson River
Baylander Steel Beach, a popular bar on the deck of a former warship docked at the West Harlem Piers, has reopened after a winter closure.
HARLEM, NY — A popular outdoor bar housed on a former warship docked on the Hudson River in West Harlem repened this week after being closed for much of the winter.
Baylander Steel Beach, located at the West Harlem Piers just off West 125th Street, was set to reopen for the 2021 season on Thursday, April 29, according to a message on its website.
The "wildly popular" bar and eatery had been closed since November for a winter "hibernation," according to Harlem Bespoke, which first reported on the reopening Wednesday.

Baylander Steel Beach on the deck of the Baylander IX-514, a small aircraft carrier that served in the Vietnam War and later sailed around the globe for decades before being revived as a museum ship in 2014 the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
It docked in West Harlem in 2016, and opened as a restaurant-bar last summer.

In a sign of its popularity, Baylander says it is open for reservations up to 45 days in advance.
