Lady Gaga Visits Homeless LGBT Youth in Harlem

Singer and actress Lady Gaga surprised LGBT youth at Harlem's Ali Forney Center.

HARLEM, NY — Pop superstar Lady Gaga surprised homeless LGBT youth at Harlem's Ali Forney Center with gifts and an inspiration message about surviving trauma's she experienced in her own life. The surprise visit aired Monday in a pre-recorded segment on NBC's "Today," as part of the show's "Share Kindness" campaign.

During the visit Lady Gaga handed out gifts such as makeup, hats and other articles of clothing. She also performed for the youths and spoke to them about some of the trauma's she has faced in her own life.

“These children are not just homeless or in need. Many of them are trauma survivors. They’ve been rejected in some type of way,” Lady Gaga said during the segment.

During the segment Lady Gaga revealed for the first time publicly that she suffers from post traumatic stress disorder.
