Man Dies Month After Being Shot In East Harlem

Police identified a 29-year-old man who died more than a month after he was shot inside an East Harlem housing complex in September.

HARLEM, NY — A 29-year-old man died more than a month after he was shot inside an East Harlem housing development in September, police said Wednesday.

Around 11:05 a.m. on Sept. 19, police responded to a 911 call reporting a man shot inside 405 East 105th St., part of the Wilson Houses NYCHA complex.

Police found the victim, identified as Jerell Parks, who lived in the building, with a gunshot wound to the torso.

Paramedics brought him to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he died on Oct. 24, police said.

His death has been ruled a homicide. Police have not made any arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
